Congratulations to our hard working graduate student Leila on successfully completing her master’s thesis titled “Outclimbing Cognitive Decline: Age, Western Diet, Resistance Exercise, and the Brain” on February 8, 2024. She looked at the impact of resistance exercise on cognition in obese mice. Her master’s included successfully developing and implementing two novel protocols in the lab: 1) resistance exercise which had mice climb a ladder with progressively more weight; these mice were working hard to getting beach body ready(!), and 2) using a citric acid water manipulation to safely motivate mice to perform touchscreen cognitive testing.
We can’t wait for her publications to come out as we think they will be useful to the wider touchscreen community.
But first… let’s celebrate!
