We are so excited to welcome into the TCNLab family two new master’s students starting this fall in the Neuroscience Graduate Program: Samina Panjwani & Cadence Opoka. We are so lucky that Samina has decided to continue in the lab. She started back in Summer 2022 with BrainsCAN Diversity in Neuroscience Summer Internship, and then continued to complete her One Health undergraduate thesis. She is particularly interested in striatal function and Parkinson’s disease. In contrast, Cadence hails from McMaster University and is completing her undergraduate honours specialization in Neuroscience. She has been studying the effects of depressed cognition on working memory under the supervision of Dr. Paul Andrews. She has a wide range of interests, including how GABAergic changes impact cognition in health and disease, especially schizophrenia, addiction, and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Welcome to the team Cadence Opoka & (welcome again! Thanks for staying!) Samina Panjwani!
